The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its pre-season NCAA Division II men's soccer rankings and the defending national champion Fort Lewis College Skyhawks soared to the top.

As the 2010 FIFA World Cup enters its final weekend of competition, University of Hartford men's soccer coach Dan Gaspar will be watching the planet's premier international soccer tournament crown a champion on television from his home state of Connecticut like many other fans throughout the world.

The University of West Florida and Pensacola Sports Association will host the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Championships at Brosnaham Park in Pensacola in December 2011, it was announced by the NCAA this week. UWF has acted as host of the Division II national championships for men's and women's soccer two previous times, including the 2006 Division II Fall Festival in Pensacola and the 2007 championships held in Orange Beach, Ala.

The victory sent the Cavaliers (18-3-3) into their first national championship final since 1997, as they look for their first national title since 1994.
