Hey guys, this is more like a question for the foreigners or people living abroad the UK. Do you know about PLTV?

This is something fairly new so let me explain it a little.

Basically when you're living abroad the UK, e.g. Middle East, you need to subscribe to certain networks that give you coverage of premier league matches.

Like sometimes the exclusivity rights are bought by Al-Jazeera sports, other times it's bought by Showtime Sports, etc. In North America it's usually Fox Soccer Channel, Gol TV and Setanta Sports.

Anyway, this season the rights were bought by Abu Dhabi sports. They have channels in both English and Arabic. The Arabic channel is based in Abu Dhabi but the English channel is based in a London studio. It's called PLTV. So these guys have phone-ins and everything after the matches are over. I thought this was only for Middle Eastern viewers at first but when the phone-in started we were hearing from callers all over the world. People from Singapore, Norway, Nigeria, etc.

So did Premier League make some official TV network or something this year? Did they copy the NFL network or something? Usually American leagues have their own TV channels so did the English finally implement this technique as well?

Gareth Barry says the Premier League must introduce a winter break to save England from another World Cup disaster.

Barry believes a short rest is "massive" when it comes to international football and was one of the biggest factors as to why England under-performed last summer.

Manchester City midfielder Barry admits England players went into the tournament already worn out from a long, hard season.

Barry said: "In my opinion, in South Africa, to be competing at our peak would have meant we needed fresh players. If a winter break can help, that certainly needs to be looked at, in my personal opinion, that is a massive thing.

"We have to look at things like winter breaks, as that is an issue which keeps coming up. Ask any players who plays on a Sunday, plays midweek and then plays the week after. You don't feel as good.

"If you are rested in the week, like will happen at Man City due to the size of the squad, you will feel better the week after. It is just natural.

"Me, as a younger player, would say I want to play every game and it doesn't affect me. It is a tough one, for the fans as well.

"Their opinion will always be we are paid all this money and we are fit enough to play all the games. But, as you get more experienced, you can perform at a higher standard when you are fresher."

Barry was rushed back from injury for the World Cup, jettisoned into the England team as if his return would be as big for Fabio Capello as David Villa was for Spain.

But it ended in disappointment for England and Barry, his lack of match fitness against Germany horribly exposed and Capello's faith in an injured player showing how desperate things had become.

There has been plenty of time for Barry to try and look for answers and reasons and one accusation that really sticks in the claw is that the players simply do not care enough.

Barry said: "Of course, we care. It is hard to take defeat, for anyone. When it is you being spoken about, it is hard to deal with. As you say, we need to learn from this. England as a whole, the FA, we will learn from in the future.

"The whole set-up, if there were mistakes or things could be done, it is important we take them on board for the future. I am not saying there were mistakes - I could not affect it.

"As players we were thinking the same as you and did not want to bring negativity into the camp. Maybe in individual heads it may have been there.

"I had not played for six weeks and wanted to get fit. Maybe as individuals, we felt we were not as fresh as we are now. You always want to compete in those events at your peak and raring to go.

"But I am not sitting here making excuses as other countries have the same sort of problems."

In no order

1) Yaya Toure
2) Chicharito
3) David Silva
4) Van Der Vaart
5) Mario Balotelli
6) Asamoah Gyan
7) Aleksandar Kolarov
8) Marouane Chamakh

United chief executive David Gillhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/ image/spacer.gif has confirmed the club failed to reach their target of season-ticket sales this summer.

Gill said the number of season tickets sold was 51,800 compared to the target of 54,000, and that executive seat sales were "on track".

United's season ticket sales have been conducted against a backdrop of a campaign by fans' group the Manchester Unitedhttp://static.lingospot.com/spot/ image/spacer.gif Supporters' Trust (MUST) urging a boycott in the hope of persuading the American owners, the Glazer family, to sell the club.

Asked about the season-ticket protest, Gill said: "I'll be clear on that. Last year our target was 54,000 season tickets, we've sold 51,800, which is pretty good in the current climate.

"We've sold more season tickets than the capacity of most Premier League grounds. Our executive seat sales are on track as compared with last year in a different market.

"I think the bare facts are that the club is in good financial shape. The ticket sales have held up. We sold out for Newcastlehttp://static.lingospot. com/spot/image/spacer.gif and West Ham but we are not complacent and we've got to keep working to make sure that we fill the ground for every game and we'll do that by playing great football, attractive football, exciting football that brings fans in."

----------------------------------------- ---------------------

Sadly, the club has so many fans that regardless of season tickets not being sold, home games for now, will always be a sell out

A trophyless season again I think may piss off the wider majority of fans

Today the 25-man-squads are announced for until January, who have your club left out?

At a first glance, interesting that Kightly and Luke Moore have been left out of Wolves and West Brom's squads. Could mean loan deals for both (when Kightly is fit again)

Post your 25 man squad once its announced - the deadline for clubs to tell the Premier League is 5pm today. Most clubs shouldn't have any problems, quite a few will be under the 25 man squad probably (even Man City now they've got rid of some of the dead wood!).

Can some one tell me why Yobo has left everton to go to fenerbache on loan,
it is very strange a transfer.

This deal looks likely to go through, just waiting on Premier League approval. West Ham may think why are they signing someone who can't even get in the Rovers side, but believe me Jacobsen is a very underrated player. He is very consistent, gets forward well and hasn't really had a poor game for us he is just unlucky that Salgado is at the club right now. The only downside is hes had a few injuries in the last few seasons, but I've no doubt he'll be a very solid signing for West Ham.

So obviously I'm a little new to the scene of English Premier League Football. Really, the only "Football" I used to watch was the NFL http://www.totalfootballforums.com/forums/ public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif . But after watching the World Cup and getting captivated by all those matches, vuvuzelas and hooligans and what not. I decided to watch some of the EPL teams, assuming that I would naturally start supporting one of the clubs. But apparently, I have no opinion since I'm all the way in the States and I just wanted to see a good match. But qualities I look for in a team are a strong loyal fan base, (even if it is considerably small.) A Rivalry, I would love to have a team to hate. And a cool looking jersey, or....kit? I also love the underdogs, so I would prefer to stray from the bandwagon teams.Oh, and a cool little nickname would be appreciated. I've done a little research and found that I'm drawn to Manchester City, because of their underdog quality, heated rivalry with United and their light blue jerseys. I also liked Fullham because they are notorious for signing American players, and their neat nickname the "Cottagers."
Now obviously I haven't came to a final decision, and would like a second opinion. Now tell me forum, who should I support?

And Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp said all would be quiet on the Spurs front today... Croatian keeper Stipe Pletikosa's arrival from Spartak Moscow on a season-long loan has only gone and been confirmed hasn't it. We're rocking and rolling now.
